Malaysia – Travel Guides & Itineraries

I visited Malaysia twice — first in 2020 and again in 2025 — and each trip was unforgettable. From the iconic cityscapes of Kuala Lumpur to the serene beaches of Langkawi, Malaysia offered a perfect mix of urban energy and tropical beauty.

Weather –

Key Climate Characteristics of Malaysia (General):

  • Temperature: Very consistent, around 27-28°C year-round in lowland areas. There’s minimal variation.
  • Rainfall: High throughout the year, with no truly “dry” season. However, there are usually wetter periods. For Kuala Lumpur, the wettest months are typically April, October, and November. Even during “dryer” months, brief, heavy downpours are common.
  • Humidity: Consistently high, around 80% or more

Best Time to Visit Malaysia

These months are ideal for beach holidays and sightseeing with plenty of sunshine and less rain.

Great for visiting Langkawi, George Town, and exploring the city life in Kuala Lumpur.

East Coast (Perhentian Islands, Redang, Tioman)

Avoid the monsoon season from October to February, when many resorts shut down.

  • Cooler weather than the rest of the country, making it perfect for nature walks, tea plantations, and strawberry farms.
  • Dry Season: Varies by coast, but generally December to March is drier in most parts.
  • Rainy Season: Peaks during May to October on the west coast, and October to February on the east coast.
