Azerbaijan – Travel Guides & Itineraries

Azerbaijan, a country at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, is renowned for its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning landscapes. From the vibrant city life of Baku to the serene beauty of the Caucasus Mountains, Azerbaijan offers a unique blend of ancient traditions and modernity. The capital, Baku, impresses with its futuristic architecture and well-preserved Old City, while the countryside, with its picturesque villages like Shaki, provides a glimpse into the country’s pastoral charm.

In December 2023, I had the opportunity to explore Azerbaijan, visiting both Baku and Shaki. Baku’s winter atmosphere was captivating, with the city’s festive decorations and the Caspian Sea’s tranquil presence adding to the charm. The historic sites of Icherisheher were especially enchanting against the backdrop of winter. Shaki, with its traditional houses and the famous Khan’s Palace, offered a contrasting yet equally memorable experience, showcasing the country’s rich heritage and warm hospitality.
