I visited Bali in February 2025 and explored the island for an entire month, staying in Kuta, Ubud, and Nusa Penida. That journey showed me how diverse and magical this island truly is—from buzzing beach towns to peaceful rice terraces and jaw-dropping coastal cliffs.
For those who don’t have a full month but still want to see the best of Bali, here’s a well-balanced 2-week itinerary that combines beach fun, cultural depth, and scenic adventures. This route gives you the real Bali experience, even if you’re short on time.
Week 1: Beachside Energy and Culture in Kuta & Ubud

Base 1: Kuta (3 nights)
Kuta is a great starting point. It’s lively and convenient, especially after a long flight. My first few days here were spent soaking in the beach life, exploring temples, and enjoying good food. Kuta is also ideal for solo travelers and budget-conscious visitors.
Things to do:
- Sunset at Kuta Beach
- Seafood dinner at Jimbaran Bay
- Visit Uluwatu Temple and watch the Kecak Fire Dance

- Day trip to Tanah Lot Temple
- Explore nearby Seminyak and Legian nightlife

Base 2: Ubud (4 nights)
Ubud was my favorite place to reconnect and slow down. Surrounded by rice paddies, temples, and artists, this town gives you a true taste of Bali’s heart and soul. My mornings were filled with fresh mountain air and peaceful walks, and evenings ended with traditional dance or local food markets.

Things to do:
- Visit the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary

- Explore Tegallalang Rice Terraces

- Hike Campuhan Ridge Walk

- Join a Balinese cooking class

- Visit Goa Gajah and Gunung Kawi Temples

- Try yoga or meditation at The Yoga Barn
Week 2: Island Adventures and Optional Getaways
Base 3: Nusa Penida (3 nights)
This was the most adventurous part of my trip. Nusa Penida is raw and beautiful—cliffs, turquoise waters, and very few crowds. I rented a scooter, rode along empty roads, and discovered views I’ll never forget. If you’re into photography or rugged nature, this island is a must.
Things to do:
- Kelingking Beach and viewpoint

- Diamond Beach and Atuh Cliff

- Angel’s Billabong and Broken Beach

- Snorkeling at Crystal Bay
- Coastal scooter ride
Optional Add-on (2 nights): Canggu or Nusa Dua
If you have two extra nights, split them between:
- Canggu: Surf, coworking cafes, and nightlife for younger travelers or digital nomads
- Nusa Dua: Quiet beaches, luxury resorts, and calm vibes—great for couples or relaxing
Where I Stayed
In February 2025, I stayed in Kuta, Ubud, and Nusa Penida. Each location had its charm:
- Kuta: Energetic and budget-friendly
- Ubud: Peaceful and spiritual
- Nusa Penida: Raw, scenic, and perfect for adventure
I booked most places on Agoda and Booking.com, and also checked Airbnb for villas in Ubud.
Travel Tips for Two Weeks in Bali
- Buy a local SIM card at the airport (Telkomsel is best)
- Always carry cash—many small places don’t take cards
- Respect temple dress codes—sarongs are usually provided
- Use Grab or Gojek for local transport, or hire a driver for day trips
- Travel light for Nusa Penida—it’s not suitcase-friendly.
Even if you’re only in Bali for 2 weeks, you can still experience the island’s best parts. With this route, you’ll explore Bali’s beaches, culture, spirituality, and nature, just like I did—but in a shorter time. Trust me, the island will leave you wanting more.
