I visited Ubud in February 2025 as part of my month-long Bali trip. After spending some time in the busy beach towns like Kuta, Ubud felt like a completely different world—peaceful, spiritual, and deeply connected to nature and tradition. I stayed here for several days and experienced everything from temple visits to art markets, yoga, and hikes through lush rice terraces. Whether you’re into culture, nature, wellness, or food, Ubud has something for every kind of traveler.

What is Ubud Known For?

Ubud is often called the cultural heart of Bali, located in the uplands, surrounded by rainforests, terraced rice paddies, and Hindu temples. It’s known for:

  • Traditional Balinese culture
  • Yoga and wellness retreats
  • Artistic heritage (painting, wood carving, crafts)
  • Temples and spiritual sites
  • Stunning nature and rice terraces
  • Local food and organic cafes
  • Peaceful resorts and villas

Ubud is more than a destination—it’s a feeling. You don’t just visit Ubud; you experience it slowly.
