I visited Pattaya in September 2022 for a 3-day trip. Upon arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), I took a direct bus to Pattaya city. The journey was comfortable and affordable, setting the tone for a budget-friendly adventure. Here’s how you can do it same Itinerary in 2 days.

From Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK):

Airport Bus :

  • Cost: Around 200 THB ($7.00)
  • Travel Time: Around 2 hours
  • Details: This bus service is convenient and comfortable. You can buy Ticket from BKK Airport Bus Counter . The buses depart from Level 1, Gate 8 at the airport. I found this service reliable and a great way to start the trip.

From Bangkok City:

Bus from Ekkamai or Mo Chit Bus Terminal:

  • Cost: Around 120 THB ($3.60)
  • Travel Time: 2-2.5 hours
  • Details: Buses to Pattaya depart frequently from both Ekkamai (Eastern) and Mo Chit (Northern) bus terminals. They are comfortable and affordable

Day 1: Explore Central Pattaya

Morning:

Breakfast at a Local Eatery
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at a local eatery. Try a traditional Thai breakfast such as Jok (rice porridge) or Khao Tom (rice soup). These meals are not only delicious but also very affordable, costing around 50-70 THB ($1.50-$2).

Visit Pattaya Beach
Head to Pattaya Beach for a relaxing morning. It’s free to access, and you can enjoy a swim or simply relax on the sand. If you want to try some water activities like jet skiing or parasailing, bargain with the operators for better prices.

Afternoon:

Lunch at a Street Food Stall
Pattaya is famous for its street food. Grab lunch from a street food stall and try dishes like Pad Thai, Som Tum (papaya salad), or grilled seafood. A typical street food meal costs around 40-60 THB ($1.20-$1.80).

Explore Walking Street
During the day, Walking Street is quieter and more relaxed. Walk around and explore the shops, cafes, and street art. It’s a great spot for taking photos and soaking in the local atmosphere without spending much.

Visit Art in Paradise
Head to Art in Paradise, a 3D art museum where you can take creative photos. The entrance fee is around 500 THB ($15), but it’s worth it for the fun experience and unique photos.

Evening:

Dinner at a Budget-Friendly Restaurant
For dinner, visit a budget-friendly restaurant like Leng Kee or Kiss Food & Drink. Both offer a variety of Thai and international dishes at reasonable prices, with meals costing around 100-150 THB ($3-$4.50).

Experience Pattaya Night Bazaar
End your day at Pattaya Night Bazaar. It’s a great place to shop for souvenirs, clothes, and accessories at bargain prices. Don’t forget to haggle to get the best deals.


Day 2: Cultural and Natural Attractions

Morning:

Breakfast at Your Hotel or Hostel
If your accommodation includes breakfast, take advantage of it to save money. If not, find a nearby café for a quick and affordable breakfast.

Visit Sanctuary of Truth
Take a trip to the Sanctuary of Truth, an impressive wooden structure that showcases Thai craftsmanship and philosophy. The entrance fee is around 500 THB ($15), but you can often find discounts online or through your hotel.

Afternoon:

Lunch at Naklua Fish Market
Head to Naklua Fish Market for lunch. You can buy fresh seafood and have it cooked on the spot. It’s a budget-friendly way to enjoy delicious seafood, with meals typically costing around 200-300 THB ($6-$9).

Explore Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden
Visit Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden, known for its beautiful landscapes and cultural shows. The entrance fee is around 600 THB ($18), but you can easily spend a few hours here enjoying the gardens, cultural performances, and elephant shows.

Evening:

Dinner at a Food Court
For dinner, visit a food court such as the one in Central Festival Pattaya Beach. Food courts offer a variety of dishes at affordable prices, with meals typically costing around 60-100 THB ($1.80-$3).

Visit Pattaya Viewpoint
End your day by heading to Pattaya Viewpoint on Pratumnak Hill for a stunning view of the city and the coastline. It’s a free attraction and a perfect spot to watch the sunset.


Budget Summary:

  • Day 1: 240-380 THB ($7.20-$11.40) for food, 500 THB ($15) for Art in Paradise, total around 740-880 THB ($22.20-$26.40).
